Dans la série Lebensformen (Formes de vie), Janine Bächle a photographié, à l’été 2015, deux Rainbow Gatherings (Rassemblements) en Italie et en Lituanie. L’on s’y retrouve pour vivre ensemble, dans la nature, pendant plusieurs semaines.

La série est structurée à partir de triptyques respectivement composés d’un portrait, d’une habitation temporaire et d’un document écrit à la main. Les textes manuscrits expliquent le choix de cette forme de vie : le désir de vivre en harmonie avec la nature, l’intérêt pour un mode de vie écologique, le contentement d’une vie de simplicité, le pacifisme et l’échange entre des cultures et nationalités diverses. Pour les gens qui participent à ces Rainbow Gatherings, Le développement personnel, l'augmentation de la conscience, la guérison physique et psychologique sont particulièrement importants.

Janine Bächle, née en 1990 en Allemagne, a commencé ses études à la Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin de Mulhouse en 2010. Depuis 2012, elle étudie la photographie et le design graphique à la Hochschule für Gestaltung d’Offenbach (DE). En 2016, elle a réalisé un semestre d’échange à Brisbane, Australie. Sa série Lebensformen a reçu un prix du Conseil Allemand du Développement Durable en 2017. Pendant ses études, Janine Bächle a auto-édité plusieurs livres photographiques, elle a exposé nationalement et internationalement et a été publiée par Journal 360°, Fotoroom, The Third Eye magazine, Soft Skin Fanzine.


The series ‘Lebensformen’, meaning ‘ways of life’, documents people living together in nature for several weeks at Rainbow Gatherings in Italy and Lithuania in the summer of 2015.

A portrait, a photograph of the dwelling of the person/s and a handwritten document respectively form a group within the series. The texts written in the native languages of the portrayed people explain why they decided for this way of life and what they appreciate about it. Frequently mentioned within the text was a longing to live in tune with nature, the interest in ecological sustainability, the satisfaction of simplistic life, pacifism and the exchange with diverse cultures and nationalities. Personal development, the increase of awareness, physical and psychological healing is especially important to the people attending these gatherings. Five landscape photographs have been included placing the portrait groups in a wider context of the gatherings, along with two books in a slipcase showing additional portrait groups, details and surroundings.

Janine Bächle, born in 1990 in Germany, started her fine art studies in 2010 at Haute école des Arts du Rhin in Mulhouse, France. Since 2012 she has studied photography and graphic design at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach, Germany. In 2016 she received the DAAD scholarship to study a semester abroad in Brisbane, Australia. After completing an internship with photographer and artist Olaf Unverzart in Munich, she now is based back in Offenbach. For her photo series ‘Lebensformen’ she received an award by the German Council for Sustainable Development in 2017. During her studies Janine Bächle has self-published several photo books, exhibited nationally and internationally and was published by Journal 360°, Fotoroom, The Third Eye magazine, Soft Skin Fanzine and others.
